Post a Secret....

Whilst having a look at www.enravanche.blogspot.com (a Blog by Barry who is a good friend of Scott's from Bill in Exile) I came across a link to a most remarkable site. www.postsecret.blogspot.com is an Art Project where people are encouraged to write a secret they have never told anyone else before on a handmade post card and then mail it where it will be received and posted on the Post Secret Blog to be viewed by anyone who cares to visit.
The popularity of this blog is not surprisingly astounding with 5721137 hits so far, and while the secrets range from the lightweight, quirky and playful to the downright devastating I don't think there would be many that wouldn't be affected and brought to do some reflecting on their own secrets after reading some of the postcards on the site.
Looking at the comments that have been left by people who have had their cards published it appears the process is a very cathartic and freeing experience so I plan on sending one of my own to the Share Secret Blog very soon.
These 2 below may not be considered the most profound cards on the site but they brought a smile to my face when I saw them...

This one was my favorite from the site.

Sleaze 2005 Theme announced.....

Today the first Teaser poster of Sleaze ball was released to the public revealing the Theme for this year "Sinsuality". Sleaze Ball is The annual fundraiser for The Mardi Gras Celebrations in March and as a party is a very similar but scaled back format to that of the Mardi Gras Party.
The Theme conceived by my friend David Twyman is based on the seven deadly sins and the party's scenic, show and costume elements will flirt and play heavily with each of the Sins to be represented on the night. With Luminere the Following day this is gonna be one fun weekend!!

Toybox Presents......

Got the very exciting news today that on October Long weekend there is going to be a "Toybox with a twist" at Luna Park following Sleaze Ball.
Toybox is an incredible day party that goes from 12 midday till 8pm and is normally held at the Metro Theatre every 3 months or so,There's actually one on this Sunday and I'll be taking heaps of pics of the party to post on here afterwards.
Toybox had it's first Luna Park event in March this year as the Official after party for Mardi Gras Party and It was the BEST party I have ever been to in my life!! (so its very cool to know that we don't have to wait till next March to do it all over again!) follow the link on the right to the official Toybox website for more information on their upcoming events.

unfortunately they do not capture the amazing energy in the room but here are some pics of the last Toybox at Luna Park just to give you an idea of how impressive they are visually.

I'm Guest Programing Rage!!!

Well not really, but someone who was Guest Programming Rage left the book that you use to pick all the songs behind and and as I perused through the pages it made me think of what I would choose if I had the chance to program the show.
For those of you not familiar with Rage it is an all night music program consisting of back to back film clips which screens nationally every Friday and Saturday night and it's been on-air for 18 years so it is a bit of a staple institution here.
The show has no presenters except on Saturday nights where they get a visiting high profile band or solo artist to pick the clips for the show and also give a few brief introductions as to why they chose them.
Even if I was a Rock Star outside of my own bedroom, I still don't think they would let me program the show due to my bi-polar musical tastes, which is why I am just going to inflict my choices on anyone who chooses to read below.

1. Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights (The Thinking Man's sex bomb and this song and clip would have to be one of my earliest music video memories.)

2. The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses

3. Cold Chisel - Flame Trees (I cant help it....I am from the Country!!)

4. The Doors - Love me Two Times

5. David Bowie - Ashes to Ashes (A ground breaking filmclip way ahead of it's time that used to freak me out when I was a kid - not to mention a brilliant song!)

6. John Lennon - Jealous Guy (even if Phil Spector is a cold blooded killer he is still a mega fucking talented producer that changed music in the 20th Century by helping make songs like this one!)

7. Split Enz - Message to my Girl

8. Stevie Nicks - Rooms on Fire

9. Cher - I found Someone (Dedicated to my friend David - If it wasn't for a young David seeing this clip on TV in deepest Wagga Wagga - Country NSW many years ago I don't know what kind of explicit vices he would be getting himself into today in place of his passion of Cher - see www.dwatson.com to see just how far that passion has taken him to!)

10. Belinda Carlisle - Leave a Light On

11. Kylie Minogue - What Do I have to Do

12. Madonna - Justify My Love (Filmed at The Chateau Marmont in LA back when the place was truly Sleazy and that reason alone is enough for it to have a place on this list!!)

13. Madonna - Like a Virgin (Live Blonde Ambition tour version)

14. Dannii - All I Wanna Do

15. Divinyls - I Touch Myself

16. Chris Isaak - Wicked Game

17. Guns & Roses - November Rain (One of my all time favorites - an Epic that I don't think will ever be eclipsed)

18. Guns & Roses - Yesterdays

19. Guns & Roses - Estranged (This clip is so self indulgent with the kind of concept that could only be dreamed up after annihilating mountains of A grade record company coke!! And that's why I love it!)

20. Leonard Cohen - Waiting for the Miracle

21. Nine Inch Nails - Closer (This one's dedicated to Scott from Bill In Exile )

22. Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Breaking The Girl

23. Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Under The Bridge

24. Crowded House - Distant Sun

25. Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box

26. Hole - Gold Dust Woman

27. Hole - Malibu

28. Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People

29. Dandy Warhols - Not if you were the last Junky on Earth (One of my all time favorite clips Directed By David Lachapelle and also featuring Amanda Lepore)

30. Radiohead - Just

31. Radiohead - Karma Police

32. Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing

33. The Fauves - Dogs are the Best People ( I love dogs so this one HAD to go on the list)

34. Blur - Coffee & TV

35. Queens Of The Stone Age - No One Knows

36. Grinspoon - Lost Control (A rockin Afternoon at Bondi Beach - This clip drips with sex!!)

37. PJ Harvey - Good Fortune

38. PJ Harvey - This is Love

39. Air - Playground Love

40. The Vines - Outtathaway! (another Amazing Lachapelle Clip)

41. The Distillers - Drain The Blood

42. Courtney Love - Mono

43. Lil Kim - No Matter What They Say (Lil Kim in a Bikini with a Machine Gun - Totally obnoxious!! , What more could you want!)

44. Sheryl Crow - My favorite Mistake

45. Fleetwood Mac - Say you Will

46.Lenny Kravitz - Again

47. Martin Solveiga - Rockin Music

48. Britney Spears - Slave 4 U (One of those Clips that makes what could have been a fairly average song on its own transcend into pure pop Elysium)

49. Christina Aguilera - Dirty (another incredible take no prisoners Lachapelle clip)

50. Ciara feat. Missy Elliott - 1-2 Step (I just like this one for the Dancing)

Bill In Exile

So it seems this some what mundane blog has started to get a whole lotta traffic ever since I announced my rock hard sexual intent for the insanely hot Scott from Bill in Exile www.billinexile.blogspot.com , So after Scott seeing my blog (and much to my surprise) turns out the attraction is mutually explosive! thus with his boyfriend's blessings (which was always paramount from the start) we have divebombed into a " very public, tawdry and yet sizzling hot affair" and since we have embarked on our journey and after some discussion his boyfriend Rich is keen to join in on the fun as well!! - which is all good in my book! - I am DEFINITELY paying to visit to Seattle on my next trip to the states to affirm my very strong belief that Scott is as equally skilled in his sexual prowess as he is a writer..which I guess would make him some kind of sex god Adonis!
The only thing is this Blog was never created with getting lots of hits in mind...It has always been just a bit of a internet scrapbook for my own and close friend's references, so I kind of feel that I should write a bit more....And maybe be a bit more open about myself. I have really enjoyed getting emails from Scott over the past few days and apart from the fact that he is a total stunner he also has a incredible mind and heart that I have found to be very encouraging so I am gonna try and come out of my shell a bit from now on......

Margaret Cho - The Assassin Tour

Last night I went to see Margaret Cho's live show at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown, it was the final installment of my birthday present from David who got me tickets back in March and it was amazing!, ever since I read her book "I'm the one that I want" a few years back I had really wanted to see her live and she did not fail to deliver last night!.
The show was completely hilarious from start to end and touched on the many facets of whats making the United States one of the most fucked up places on Earth (blue states exempt!!). While the tone of the show was always humorous It did bring to attention many issues that make my blood boil!!, Issues like the dark cloud that looms over Women's rights to abortion and birth control and just the down right insanity and blatant hypocrisy that runs rife through the Christian movements that are doing a pretty good job at overtaking the country despite their complete and utter lack of Intelligence!!.
We are in really dangerous waters at the moment and with Australia having such close ties to the US in the current political environment I Think Margaret's show did an incredible job to create awareness of these topics while being piss funny at the same time!!!

Could this be the way of the Future??

A Journey to Atlantis....

Here are some pics from Friday Night when I went to the latest installment of the heavily themed Ruby Parties. The theme for this one was "Atlantis" which transformed ARQ Nightclub into a undersea aquatic wonderland. I had a very fun relaxed night catching up with lots of friends and it got even better the next day!! ( see the last pic) but that's another story all together!!

Time for some weird hilarity!! Looks like Mariah started a hot new celebrity trend on the streets of London!!, These pics have gotta be the most obnoxious images to come out of photo shop in quite a while. What's the bet that this homeless guy has now turned into a tourist attraction himself now...I hope he's charging some money to all the chav scum lining up daily now to get their photo taken with him.

Some random Mayan moments.....

Resolution @ The Mayan Theater downtown LA Memorial Day Weekend 2005 - captured this moment above my head sometime in the early hours of Monday morning while DJ Abel was playing.

West Hollywood -Purebreed Pieces

I stumbled across this cool shop window on my way to the Abbey with Broeck one night. I have been wanting to show these to David ever since I got back as I took the shots with him in mind so here they are - unfortunately the camera did not capture the detail in the chandelier. It was very striking though.
